Slow Down and Enjoy Everyday — Life Goes By Way Too Fast
Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.

Some days the only honest thing to say is: slow down. Not as a productivity hack. Not because the science says so. But because the evening light on an ordinary street is doing something, and you are about to miss it.

I had my camera that day. I do not remember where I was going or what I had been thinking about before I stopped. I remember stopping. I remember that the light was doing something worth keeping.

We are very good at moving through days without being in them. The to-do list is always accurate. The calendar is always full. The notifications are always there. And somewhere in the middle of all of it, the day ends and we have technically been awake for sixteen hours without ever quite arriving in any of them.

This is not an argument against ambition or work or planning. It is a note to myself, mostly: be here. Look at the thing in front of you. The photograph will remind you of what you saw. The memory of stopping to take it will remind you that you can choose to.

Life goes by way too fast to spend most of it in transit between one thing and the next.
