Happiest Kid!!

“Seeing is not enough — you will have to feel what you photograph.” Photography is an art of observation. It has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.

I met this kid and could not stop looking at him. He had very little by most measures. And yet there was a happiness in him that was entirely unperformed — the kind that does not know it is being watched.

We spend so much of our lives wanting more. More things, more comfort, more certainty. This child had none of that arithmetic going on behind his eyes. Just the present moment, and apparently, that was enough.
