Eyes!!

Seems to be the man who served the society to the fullest extent possible. No more future avenues remaining in his eyes.

I took this portrait and could not stop looking at it. Not because of the composition—though the light was doing its job—but because of something harder to name. A tiredness that is not defeat. A fullness that is not contentment exactly. More like: a life that has been lived until there is not much left to prove.

Eyes do this. They carry things that the face has stopped trying to arrange into presentable shapes. They are the part of a person that keeps speaking when everything else goes quiet.
